MARS SETTLEMENTS

The Visitor is an architectural prototype designed for the establishment of temporary colonies on Mars. The project includes the needs of linking transportation and habitat, as indispensable parts of an operational set. This proposal links the organization of a system of modules around a vehicle and central transportation, allowing the development of linear room systems, eventually capable of being organized on dry land. The proposal embraces temporality as a system of hierarchy, where transportation conceives different ecosystems necessary for life and research, without giving up its infrastructural quality.
The establishment of colonies on Mars holds profound significance for the future of humanity, representing a giant leap towards ensuring the survival and continuity of our species. Earth, our cradle, faces various threats ranging from natural disasters to potential man-made catastrophes. By extending our reach to Mars, we create a backup for the human race, reducing the risk of extinction. This interplanetary expansion acts as a form of insurance, safeguarding our species against unforeseen challenges that may arise on Earth.
Moreover, the colonization of Mars offers unparalleled opportunities for scientific exploration and discovery. The Martian environment presents a unique setting for researchers to study the planet's geology, climate, and potential for sustaining life. By establishing colonies, we can conduct experiments and gather data that could unlock the mysteries of Mars and deepen our understanding of the broader cosmos. This knowledge not only advances our scientific prowess but also opens new avenues for technological innovation that can have far-reaching benefits for humanity.
